Contraindications

While sound healing is generally safe and well-tolerated, there are a few contraindications and precautions to consider. It's important to be aware of these factors and consult with a healthcare professional if you have any specific concerns or medical conditions.

Here are some common precautions and contraindications for sound healing:

  1. Pregnancy: Some sound healing practices involve strong vibrations and intense frequencies that may not be suitable for pregnant individuals less than 12 weeks pregnant. It is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before engaging in sound healing during pregnancy.

  2. Seizure Disorders: Certain individuals with a history of sound or music induced epilepsy or seizure disorders may be sensitive to the sound frequencies and vibrations in our sessions. High-intensity or rapid sound stimulation could potentially trigger seizures. If you have a seizure disorder, it is important to consult with your healthcare provider before participating in sound healing sessions.

  3. Severe Mental Health: Sound healing sessions that involve intense or disorienting sounds may not be suitable for individuals experiencing severe mental health conditions. It is essential to prioritize your safety and consult with your mental health professional before considering sound healing.

  4. Implantable Medical Devices: Some sound healing instruments produce strong vibrations that could potentially interfere with or affect the performance of implantable medical devices like pacemakers or cochlear implants. It is crucial to consult with a healthcare professional and inform your sound healer about any implantable devices you may have.

  5. Heart Conditions: If you have heart problems or are under treatment for any cardiovascular condition, it is crucial to follow the advice and recommendations of your healthcare provider. They can provide specific guidance on engaging in activities such as sound healing and offer insights into any potential risks or precautions to consider.

  6. Acute or Infectious Conditions: In cases of acute illness, infection, or fever, it is generally advisable to postpone sound healing sessions until you have recovered. Please also be mindful in attending if you have a persistent cough as this could be disruptive to everyone. Rest and allow your body to heal naturally before engaging in any energetic or vibrational practices.

Remember, it is always best to consult with a healthcare professional or qualified sound healing practitioner if you have any specific medical concerns or conditions. They can provide personalized guidance and ensure that sound healing is safe and appropriate for your individual circumstances.
